Metalmatic Steel 12.5 x 8.6 x 23.5 feet

Metalmatic was built from a single steel coil used to form pipes and make connections from one source to another. By obsessively wrapping, stretching, and stacking the material I built off of the inherent nature of the forms that began to emerge. This repeated activity created an undulating and pod-like structure that conveys a sense of movement and growth playing with the concepts of man-made vs. natural. It is now lives at Skokie North Shore Sculpture Park in Illinois.
